Started as a high school volleyball club in Point Cook, we have shared a passion for training and playing volleyball for many years. Noticing far fewer opportunities in the Wyndham area compared with the city and East Melbourne, we are committed to growing the sport at the heart of Wyndham. We want to bring volleyball to those who cannot travel long distances because when we were younger, we didn’t have that opportunity.
Meet the founder
Hello, I'm Danny. I'm the founder of Wyndham Wombats Volleyball Club, and if you've ever struggled to find a consistent, welcoming place to play volleyball in the West, I know exactly how you feel.
My volleyball journey spans a decade, a mix of booking courts at Eagle Stadium for casual hits and chasing social games at Volley+ and Renegades. I was playing, but something was missing. I felt the frustrating gap in our local community: plenty of passion for volleyball in Wyndham, but nowhere near enough opportunities to connect, train, and belong to a real club without travelling afar.
That frustration sat with me for a long time. Finally, I decided to stop waiting for someone else to fix it. I found the courage to build the club I always wished existed, a place where I could play the sport I love, and more importantly, give back by creating that home for others.
The Wyndham Wombats is that home. I can't wait to see you on the court.
